Return to: Degree Plans & Certificates - By Degree Type The Associate of Science concentration in Biology provides students a broad foundation in preparation for professional careers in the fields such as Physician Assistant as well as research and careers in, Industry, Government Agencies and Educational Institutions. Students will be exposed to a solid foundation of scientific methodology and the fundamental principles of Biology. Students are encouraged to contact the institution to which they plan to transfer for specific requirements in Mathematics and the Sciences.
Palo Alto College has signed several 2+2 articulation agreements with area colleges and universities. Students following these degree plans should consult with a faculty advisor for guidance. Students interested in pursuing the field of Veterinary Medicine should follow the TAMU/PAC 2+2 Biomedical Sciences degree plan.

Courses from the Additional Requirements area may not be used to satisfy Core Curriculum requirements.
*Students pursing the 2+2 degree plan with TAMU in Biomedical Sciences through Palo Alto College should take BIOL 1411 and BIOL 1413 to fulfill the Natural Sciences requirement.
**Students should check with the university to which they plan to transfer to confirm the upper level math requirement and to ensure that appropriate courses are selected at PAC that will apply to the baccalaureate degree. Pre-requisite math courses may be required for students to register for these math courses.
***Students should check with the transfer university regarding the best upper level science credits to take for seamless transfer.
