The Advanced Manufacturing Technology - Robotics and Automation Specialization A.A.S. prepares students for employment in the modern manufacturing environment which is increasingly dominated by robotics. With American manufacturers becoming more dependent on the use of high-tech equipment that involves multiple automated and integrated systems, it is crucial to recruit and employ individuals who know how to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain these complex systems.

The student in this degree program will learn about and work with electromechanical systems, motor control, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), pneumatics, robotics and automated manufacturing systems. Graduates with this degree are attractive to employers who implement production/maintenance systems within the advanced manufacturing environment.  Program graduates will be equipped with the technical skills needed to support engineers and other professionals engaged in developing, installing, calibrating, modifying, and maintaining robots, autonomous mobile robots, AGVs, and automated production lines. By the completion of this degree, students will be well prepared for the more challenging Industry 4.0 courses that are considered the future of Advanced Manufacturing.

The Robotics and Automation Program is meticulously designed to equip individuals with the versatile skills essential in today's extensively automated manufacturing landscape. Our curriculum covers a wide spectrum encompassing the operation, maintenance, and programming of cutting-edge robots and industrial equipment as well as the design and simulation of small automation solutions. Furthermore, our curriculum provides a balanced blend of hands-on experience and theoretical instruction in electrical, electronics, mechanical, computer, communication, and software-related courses. Through comprehensive and integrated course delivery, our graduates are thoroughly prepared to succeed as Robotics and Automation Technicians.
