Return to: Programs and Courses - Logistics Management The Advanced Manufacturing Technology - Robotics and Automation Specialization A.A.S. prepares students for employment in the modern manufacturing environment which is increasingly dominated by robotics. With American manufacturers becoming more dependent on the use of high-tech equipment that involves multiple automated and integrated systems, it is crucial to recruit and employ individuals who know how to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain these complex systems.
The student in this degree program will learn about and work with electromechanical systems, motor control, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), pneumatics, robotics and automated manufacturing systems. Graduates with this degree are attractive to employers who implement production/maintenance systems within the advanced manufacturing environment. Program graduates will be equipped with the technical skills needed to support engineers and other professionals engaged in developing, installing, calibrating, modifying, and maintaining robots, autonomous mobile robots, AGVs, and automated production lines. By the completion of this degree, students will be well prepared for the more challenging Industry 4.0 courses that are considered the future of Advanced Manufacturing.
