Instrumentation and Process Technology awards focus on installation, maintenance, and calibration of devices used in the process and manufacturing industries.  These devices control the pressure, temperature, level, and flow of processes used in the petrochemical, refinery, and manufacturing industries.

Students in the A.A.S. Program learn the basics of: DC/AC electricity, industrial equipment maintenance, the physics of instrumentation, process technology equipment and systems, unit operations, pneumatics and hydraulics, and electromechanical systems. Students are familiarized with control systems, such as PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and are introduced to robotic automation for process industries. The A.A.S. provides students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting in the petrochemical, refinery, and manufacturing industries.

Our newly revamped Instrumentation and Process Technology Program is tailored to address the growing demand for skilled technicians who are adept at safely operating modern process industries. Our curriculum encompasses a wide spectrum of courses spanning instrumentation, quality control, process technologies, and automation technology. All course content is reinforced with hands-on laboratory sessions. As industries increasingly prioritize quality, efficiency, and sustainability, our program shines a spotlight on the indispensable role of modern automation technologies, smart sensing, and instrumentation. By providing our students with training in these vital areas, we prepare them to implement  maintenance strategies that effectively curb downtime and ensure seamless operations in the ever-evolving process industries.
