Return to: Programs and Courses - Logistics Management The Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) A.A.S. degree is designed to prepare students to move into the workforce in the modern manufacturing environment. With American manufacturers becoming increasingly dependent upon the use of high-tech equipment that involves multiple, automated, and integrated systems, it is crucial to recruit and employ individuals who know how to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain it.
The student in this degree program will learn and work with electromechanical systems, motor control, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), pneumatics, robotics, process instrumentation, and safety. Graduates with this degree are attractive to employers who implement production/ maintenance systems within the advanced manufacturing environment. By the completion of this degree, students will also have prepared for more advanced courses in what is referred to as the future of the Advanced Manufacturing - Industry 4.0 / Manufacturing 4.0.
