Sociology: Associate of Arts, concentration in Sociology

Students may earn the Associate of Arts degree in Sociology by either completing the entire first two years of any sociology curriculum identified in a current transfer agreement or by completing the degree requirements listed below.

All sociology majors should contact the Sociology Department for advising before registering for courses.

Select 1 course from the Additional Humanities (41) Core 
Select 1 course from the Visual and Performing Arts (50) Core 

Social and Behavioral Sciences (15 Hours)


Select 2 courses from the Government (70) Core 
Select 2 courses from the History (60) Core   
Select 1 course from the Social and Behavioral Sciences (80) Core

  • SOCI 2301 - Marriage and the Family
  • SOCI 2319 - Minority Studies #

    SOCI 2339 - Juvenile Delinquency #

    SOCI 2340 - Drug Use and Abuse #

    Select 3 courses (9 hours) from the list below. Two courses must be from the same course area. Transfer students should contact an academic advisor at their transfer institution concerning preferred courses toward a minor.
