Chemistry: Associate of Science, concentration in Chemistry

Return to: Degree Plans & Certificates - By Degree Type Chemistry is the science that stands at the junction between physical and biological sciences. An Associate of Science degree concentrating in chemistry provides a solid foundation for students to use when transferring to a four-year institution. This foundation will allow a student to pursue a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or professional training in the fields of dentistry, medicine, or pharmacy. A bachelor’s degree in chemistry qualifies the student to obtain employment in industry as a chemist or go on for a graduate degree. It is strongly encouraged students complete eight hours of calculus and physics.

Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry may require the following courses that are also offered at PAC. Students transferring to a four-year institution should consult with a faculty advisor before taking one or more of these courses:

MATH 2415 - Calculus III
