This Associate of Applied Science degree provides advanced development of those responsibilities one would be tasked within a small or medium sized Information Technology Department along with the marketable skills of critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills sought by employers. Students are prepared to troubleshoot advanced hardware and software issues to address client needs. Students learn hands-on techniques for traditional networking and cloud networking escalated issues including basic cybersecurity. This certificate prepares students for the CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, and CompTIA Security+.

Additional Program Information


This degree helps the student prepare for a career as a computer support specialist. All computer support positions require strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Technical support specialists may go on to supervisory positions in which they oversee the work of a support staff and handle more complicated problems. With additional training or education, a support specialist may pursue a career as a quality assurance engineer who tests computer programs for problems, or designs software to perform such tests.
