An open elective is a flexible, student-chosen college-level course (usually numbered 1000 or above that applies toward the credit hour requirements for graduation, but is not restricted to any specific major or core curriculum. It allows you to explore personal interests or gain broad foundational skills. The open elective can be any college-level course from the college catalog like Arts or Music Appreciation, General Psychology, or Introductory Sociology.
