Return to: Degree Plans & Certificates - Academic/Technical The objective of the Information Technology Security Skills Certificate is to introduce students to the field of computer and network security services. Students will study and understand various security threats and countermeasures. Through emphasis on both theory and practical application, students will develop a level of information technology hardware, software, and network security awareness which is increasingly important in business and home environments. Cyber attacks have increased in recent years and the demand for end-user support in computer security is greater than ever. The courses completed for the Certificate also apply toward the Palo Alto College AAS in Information Technology Security degree plan.
