Viticulture is the science of grape growing. In Texas, there are approximately 4,400 bearing acres of grapes. Enology is the science and study of wine and winemaking. In Texas, there is an active wine industry with over 50 wine grape varieties.

The Viticulture and Enology Entrepreneurship A.A.S. blends Viticulture and Enology courses with Business courses to prepare graduates in key aspectss of the multi-faceted wine industry: grape cultivation, wine-making, winery operation, wine marketing, and wine hospitality, The degree plan is carefully designed to maximize students’ immersion in the knowledge and skills required for success in the wine industry and its related management and entrepreneurial opportunities.
