A milestone course is a course that is critical for success in this program as determined by the Faculty of the Alamo Colleges District.
Additional Program Information:
The Health Care Administrator (HCA) Program prepares graduates to become effective managers of in-patient and out-patient healthcare facilities. Students learn the problem-solving skills, leadership strategies, and communication techniques vital for successful healthcare managers.
The HCA curriculum is designed to fit the schedules of working adults. Program courses are 8-week classes that are delivered though Zoom instruction scheduled in the evening.
Admission to the Health Care Administrator Program requires:
- College-level in reading, writing, and math.
- An overall college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Completed HITT 1305 Medical Terminology I with grade of C or higher.
- Completed BIOL 2404 Human Anatomy and Physiology with grade of C or higher (or BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402 with a grade of “C” or higher in each course).
- Completed ENGL 1301 Composition I with a grade of C or higher.
Students admitted to the HCA Program must maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain in good standing.
