The Health Systems & Supervision OSA  provides students with entry level skills in supervision, familiarity with health systems operations, and an introduction to medical law and ethics.  

Only students who have been admitted to the Health Care Administration Program at Palo Alto College are eligible for the Health Systems & Supervision OSA.

The Health Care Administrator (HCA) Program prepares graduates to become effective managers of in-patient and out-patient healthcare facilities. Students learn the problem-solving skills, leadership strategies, and communication techniques vital for successful healthcare managers.

The HCA curriculum is designed to fit the schedules of working adults. Program courses are 8-week classes that are delivered though Zoom instruction scheduled in the evening.

Admission to the Health Care Administrator Program requires:

  • College-level in reading, writing, and math.
  • An overall college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Completed HITT 1305 Medical Terminology I with grade of C or higher.
  • Completed BIOL 2404 Human Anatomy and Physiology with grade of C or higher (or BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402 with a grade of “C” or higher in each course).
  • Completed ENGL 1301 Composition I with a grade of C or higher.

Students admitted to the HCA Program must maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain in good standing.
