The Health Care Administration (HCA) Program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to acquire entry-level employment as a healthcare manager. By participating in carefully designed classroom and small group experiences, students acquire competence in the leadership and managerial strategies needed to plan, direct, and coordinate medical and health services.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Health Care Administration is one of the fastest-growing career fields in the nation with employment projected to grow 28% from 2022 to 2032.

Additional Program Information


The Health Care Administrator (HCA) Program prepares graduates to become effective managers of in-patient and out-patient healthcare facilities. Students learn the problem-solving skills, leadership strategies, and communication techniques vital for successful healthcare managers.

The HCA curriculum is designed to fit the schedules of working adults. Program courses are 8-week classes that are delivered though Zoom instruction scheduled in the evening.

Admission to the Health Care Administrator Program requires:

  • College-level in reading, writing, and math.
  • An overall college GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Completed HITT 1305 Medical Terminology I with grade of C or higher.
  • Completed BIOL 2404 Human Anatomy and Physiology with grade of C or higher (or BIOL 2401 and BIOL 2402 with a grade of “C” or higher in each course).
  • Completed ENGL 1301 Composition I with a grade of C or higher.

Students admitted to the HCA Program must maintain a 2.0 GPA to remain in good standing.
