HITT 2373 - Introduction to Quality Assurance and Improvement for Health Care Administration
This course introduces students to the principles and practices of quality assurance (QA) and quality improvement (QI) in health care organizations. With no prior knowledge assumed, students will learn how quality frameworks, standards, and tools are used to ensure patient safety, improve outcomes, and enhance organizational performance. Emphasis is placed on understanding the language of quality, exploring real-world case studies, and applying basic problem-solving approaches to health care administration. By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize the role of QA/QI in health systems, interpret quality data at a conceptual level, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
