ITSY 2471 - Applied Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing

Prerequisites: ITSY 1371 Introduction to Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing

This course will immerse the student in the “hacker mindset” through a variety of hands-on activities to learn the five phases of ethical hacking (reconnaissance, gaining access, enumeration, maintaining access, and covering one’s tracks) and the ways to approach a target and succeed at breaking in every time. The course provides the student with advanced hacking tools and techniques to assess the security posture of an organization with the same approach that malicious hackers use (the “hacker mindset)”.  The student will be able to identify weaknesses and fix  problems before they are identified by the enemy, preventing what could potentially be catastrophic damage to an organization. Prior to starting this course, students are required to sign a legal agreement stating all knowledge learned in this course will not be used for illegal or malicious purposes. Examples of hacking concepts students will learn and practice during this hands-on course include:
• Buffer Overflow
