Accountants communicate critical financial information to company stakeholders and ensure that businesses are run efficiently and effectively.  The demand for accountants is growing and is expected to continue this growth into the foreseeable future.  The Associate of Science degree with a concentration in Accounting from Palo Alto College is transferrable to a four-year university and can be applied toward a B.B.A. in Accounting or a B.S. in Accounting.  With a four-year degree in accounting, the graduate will be able to find work in any one of four accounting areas:  Public Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Internal Accounting, and Governmental Accounting.
